Graduate Research / Teaching Assistant

Pay grade: 13 TV-L

in the field of

Intercultural Business Communication: Anglophone Culture USA/UK

The position is to begin on October 1st, 2010.

Expected Qualifications:
Master’s level or equivalent in a major of relevance to intercultural
communication
Teaching experience
Native speaker of English with an excellent command of the German language
Experience in the educational use of digital media (e-Learning)

Responsibilities:
Independent planning and execution of university seminars in the field
of intercultural communication including:
Cultural/economic  history of anglophone countries (specifically the US
or Australia)
Intercultural communication in German/Anglo-Saxon contexts
Execution of intercultural training sessions
Participation in student exams, research projects related in
intercultural communication
Leadership of all anglophone activities including the coordination of
exchange programs, selection of students for study abroad, and some
English translations
Candidates should furthermore be willing to engage in academic
advancement projects such as the completion of a doctoral dissertation.

The salary for this position corresponds to category 13 TV-L at a rate
of 66.5% (a “two-thirds” position) with the possibility for academic
advancement.  The position will initially be a two-year employment with
the possibility for extension up to six years.
