"Strictly Public Service Broadcasting - Creative Freedom and Ambition?" - Wednesday, 28th April 2010 in London
Strictly Public Service Broadcasting Creative Freedom and Ambition?
London on Wednesday, 28th April.
The key speakers will be:
Melvyn Bragg, creator and presenter of ITVs South Bank Show until its demise last month, with Mark Lawson in the chair.
Alan Yentob, the BBC's Creative Director, with responsibility for developing talent across all the BBCs services
The opening session will be devoted to the BBCs Strategic Review, advocating quality, creativity and ambition to excel, the very content of our whole conference, and now the subject of a twelve week public consultation by the BBC Trust
The programme is highly topical, packed with interest, and will also include the always highly enjoyable presentation of -
VLV's 2009 Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting at 1.45pm by James Naughtie, presenter of Radio 4's Today and Book Club.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear and question leading players on the future of the UK's creative industries, the impact that the BBCs Review will have on them or the choice of programmes available to viewers, listeners and new media users, or a rare chance to share the pleasure of some outstanding people as they receive well-earned rewards for the hours of enjoyment they create for millions of people daily.
VLV's 27th annual conference will be held at the Royal Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1, starting at 10.45am (registration 10.30am).
I attach an application form for you to use and to send on to contacts you feel might wish to attend.
